***Schindler Space Architect*** film followed by a 30-minute Q&A with director Valentina Ganeva. Moderated by California architect and historian Axel Schmitzberger. *Schindler Space Architect* is the first feature-length documentary exploring the life and works of modern architecture pioneer R. M. Schindler. The film is narrated by Meryl Streep and features renowned architects Frank Gehry, Steven Holl, and Thom Mayne, among many others sharing their insights on Schindler. He changed forever the architectural landscape of Los Angeles and laid the foundation for what is now considered the California lifestyle of indoor-outdoor living. This documentary is an investigation into Schindler’s philosophy of Space Architecture and reexamines his complicated relationship with his mentor, Frank Lloyd Wright, and his former friend turned rival, Richard Neutra. A true original, Schindler experimented and invented for 30 years. The film affirms the singular genius of one man and the eternal challenge every artist faces to stay true to their vision. \*Ticket *does NOT include entry to the separate June 13 program at Liljestrand House: INFO @ LFHawaii.org*

Kupuna Movie Mornings - "MY FAIR LADY" (1964)

Step into a world of elegance, wit, and unforgettable music when the classic film My Fair Lady \(1964\) comes to the historic Hawaii Theatre Center on Tuesday, June 14. Starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, this beloved Academy Award-winning musical dazzles with iconic songs, lavish costumes, and timeless charm. Based on the legendary Lerner & Loewe Broadway musical — itself adapted from George Bernard Shaw's celebrated play Pygmalion — the film follows Eliza Doolittle, a sharp-tongued Cockney flower girl taken under the wing of the insufferably charming Professor Henry Higgins, who wagers he can pass her off as a duchess. Sweeping costumes by Cecil Beaton, iconic songs like "I Could Have Danced All Night" and "Get Me to the Church on Time," and eight Academy Awards — including Best Picture and Best Director — make this one of Hollywood's most triumphant golden-age achievements. And why simply watch the fashion when you can wear it? Come dressed in your most stunning fascinator headpiece for a chance to win! Our best-dressed contest will take place right before the movie starts and we’ll be awarding prizes to the patron who brings the most flair, elegance, or whimsy to their headwear. Channel your inner Eliza Doolittle — and may the best fascinator win! Please note that there will be a short intermission about halfway through the film
