Late Night Theatre Company Presents Fear and Misery in the Third Reich by Bertolt Brecht Directed by MFA candidate Ed Refuerzo April 25-May 2, 2026 A Late Night Theatre Company Production Fear and Misery in the Third Reich follows the lives of everyday citizens during Hitler’s rise to power. Through a series of interconnected playlets, this show dramatizes the erosion of ordinary life under Nazi rule and illustrates how a pervasive atmosphere of suspicion and anxiety can infiltrate households and fracture community bonds. Although this anti-Nazi play is over 90 years old, Bertolt Brecht’s warnings are more urgent than ever, as it serves as both a historical record of totalitarianism and a call for collective resistance against the normalization of violence and cruelty. Content Advisories: This production contains depictions of life under a totalitarian regime, including antisemitism, staged violence, loud gunshot sounds, and intense psychological distress. Recommended for mature audiences, viewer discretion is advised. Presented with the cooperation of the Heirs of Bertolt Brecht. Late Night Theatre Company strives to create relevant and innovative performance art-making that dismantles oppression, fosters skills in a pre-professional environment, and empowers our local, national, and global communities. Late Night productions are by, for, and about UHM students. Please note that tickets to all Late Night Theatre Company performances will only be available at the Kennedy Theatre Box Office starting one hour before each performance.

The Mountain Goats

The Mountain GoatsThe Mountain Goats are, for all practical purposes, the endlessly clever and prolific John Darnielle and whomever he chooses to work with at the moment, which means the sound may change from project to project, but the overall tone and feel of his work remains remarkably consistent. Darnielle writes finely observed, impressionistic vignettes that blend a clear, realistic sense of detail with mildly surreal imaginings, giving his work a literary flavor that suits his status as a songwriter who is also a successful novelist. His early Mountain Goats releases were lo-fi, cassette-recorded efforts cut with a rotating cast of musicians, such as 1995s Nine Black Poppies and 2000s The Coroners Gambit. By 2005s The Sunset Tree, his recordings had become cleaner and less cluttered, but his character studies were just as vivid. As the Mountain Goats cohered into a stable lineup \(with Darnielle joined by Peter Hughes, Matt Douglas, and Jon Wurster\), they recorded tuneful, thematically unified albums such as Beat the Champ \(2015\) and Jenny from Thebes \(2023\) that ranked with their finestwork.Tickets $40-$50\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_CLUB POLICIESSeating is First Come, First Served$20 Food or Beverage Minimum Per PersonFull Bar & Full Dinner Menu AvailableNo refunds or exchange.
